The Brief

With a view of how they wished to use their kitchen and living space, the most imperative part of this project was the building work to combine two rooms into a single kitchen and dining area.

Prior to any work taking place, this client required a bold kitchen design to suit a potential new layout with flexible seating and dining options. Designer Phil was also briefed with incorporating plentiful storage along with high-performance appliances for daily use.

Design Elements

To achieve the modern and bold kitchen required by this client designer Phil has utilised high-impact navy cabinetry, which combines nicely with the subdued light grey furniture used across wall units.

This kitchen is designed in handleless form and uses the inverted handeless option ‘CP35’ from German supplier Bauformat.

Phil has included flexible seating through a peninsula island with room for three seats. The kitchen has been designed to be spacious, with plenty of floorspace in the kitchen and new dining area.

Special Inclusions

Personalised inclusions have been made throughout this area. As part of the design, new appliances were specified, with German supplier Neff chosen for a new combination oven, single oven, induction hob and full-height fridge freezer.

To add to the modern theme, contemporary quartz work surfaces have been used in the neutral arabesque finish, tying in nicely with the kitchen theme.

To separate the space, a new set of French doors have been fitted. Alongside the installation of the kitchen, full lighting and electrical improvements have been made, with new Karndean flooring throughout in the honed oyster slate finish.

The most striking feature is the vibrant glass splashback that is in keeping with the ultramodern style of this project.
