Classic Kitchen Design & Install in Henfield

The Brief

This client sought a simple renovation of their kitchen space, swapping out a slightly tired country-style kitchen for something with playful character that suited the modern conveniences the new space would behold.

The new space had to tie in with some existing elements, one the beautiful painted country dresser and another a contemporary grey quartz floor tile.

The Transformation

The existing layout worked very nicely for the space; with the only real change a slight widening of the new island and a slight reposition to ensure spacious walkways.

A key part of the project involved transforming away from the ‘classic country’ look, so the clients opted to part with their large range cooker in favour of a modern alternative.

Design Elements

So, with the aim of creating a new playful theme, the clients settled upon a colourful combination from German Kitchen Maker Bauformat of Blush Texture Matt and Storm Grey Texture Matt. The latter of which is more like a blue in person, which doubles to match and incorporate the existing tone of their lovely sideboard that would stay in place for the new kitchen.

The chosen door is a shaker option named Torino and is a blend of modern and classic with a double-edged frame that is highlighted by a really bold colour combination in this kitchen.

As mentioned, little changes from the layout of the previous kitchen with proportions around the new island adjusted, and in places the use of wall units has changed to provide purposeful storage without dotting cupboard everywhere.

A Dekton finish has been chosen for work surfaces everywhere in this space and the chosen finish named Entzo22 compliments the colourful theme with a consistent white finish and scarce natural looking veins for effect.

One traditional element that remains in this space is the large Butler sink, placed on the long spacious run beneath the windows. This sink and tap combination are from manufacturer Sterling, with a 1.5 bowl sink chosen in company with a Nickel finished lever tap.

Special Inclusions

A key factor of this renovation was adding modernity to the kitchen space, and this was prevalent when upgrading appliances in particular. The clients sought to move away from a traditional range cooker, instead opting for modern day alternatives with easier access and better cooking functions.

Cooking appliances are placed in the corner of the room, with NEFF models chosen to form an impressive array of cooking capabilities. Built-into furniture two N70 single ovens are stacked atop a large 29cm warming drawer, and aside an N90 induction hob completes the cooking appliance corner of this kitchen (with an extractor installed above of course).

A selection of additional Neff appliances are integrated behind doors, with a dishwasher and refrigerator, and Caple wine cabinet also installed as part of the project

Project Highlight

Our highlight of this renovation is the beautiful Dekton work surfaces fabricated and installed upon all new surfaces in this space including vertically as the splashback behind the cooking area.

The soft white finish of this Entzo22 finish ties in really well with the bright colours and existing flooring alike – we couldn’t have picked it better ourselves!
