The Brief

In this Worthing project, a light and airy replacement of a tired kitchen was required, with this client keen to incorporate premium Corian work surfaces, used as part of their previous kitchen.

Inventive storage solutions were required to make the most of space, with accessibility to storage also a key consideration. Feature units were also a must-have to store decorative kitchen items, with new high-performance cooking appliances also specified.

Design Elements

To achieve the light aesthetic required for this project a subtle cashmere colour option has been used, teaming nicely with contemporary shaker furniture from our British supplier Mereway.

A social island space was a key element on this project, with a walk-around island preferred. Designer Phil has carefully placed this to maintain plenty of floorspace, whilst using curved units on the island and the rest of the kitchen as a classic feature.

Phil has also included the desired decorative furniture in the form of exposed and glass fronted wall units, which showcase cook books and glassware.

For high-performance cooking, a Neff gas hob has been included in addition to a double oven built into furniture. A decending extractor hood is mounted into the beamed ceiling, with this appliance removing all cooking odours and scents through powerful operation.

Project Highlight

The highlight of this project is the Corian surfaces.

The acrylic nature of these surfaces gives them an almost viscous appearance, chosen in the limestone prima finish, they also team nicely with the white metro tiles and the light theme of this project.

The End Result

The end result of this project is a kitchen that is well-organised as required, with a light theme that is delightfully subtle. The Corian surfaces are an impressive inclusion that add a luxurious feel to the space.
