The Brief

To perform as this Horsham client wished, the brief of this project involved combining the original kitchen and dining room to make a more spacious area. The proposed change sought to create a more communal space, with flexible dining and social options.

In terms of the theme, a classic style of kitchen was required, with traditional touches for an overall homely feel. This client also sought to enhance key elements like heating and flooring in the kitchen, with flooring also to be improved elsewhere in the property.

Design Elements

A tricky element designer George overcame in this design was the inclusion of flexible dining and seating, as well as all usual amenities. The L-shaped layout works well to combine cooking appliances, dishwashing and even an integrated washing machine, with added ivory wall units for storage.

To include the flexible dining desired by this client, the layout includes a wrap-around peninsula island space that is well-designed around a slightly obscuring wall. The island makes space for three to sit, whilst also including significant storage beneath in the form of pan drawers as well as additional work surface space.

Special Inclusions

A nicely sized butler sink has been incorporated, befitting with the style this client required, but also slightly increased in size for convenience. Around the sink, quartz work surfaces from Silestone have been used in a sparkling Stellar Blanco finish, with drainer grooves cut for ease.
