The Brief

These clients from Ashington, West Sussex approached the team looking to refresh a relatively compact bathroom space with a light and contemporary design.

The client favoured a subtle blue accent as part of the theme from early project conversations, and so furnishings from furniture and bath maker Sonas Bathrooms were a key element to incorporate.

Upon browsing the Sonas bathroom brochure, they found a patterned tile choice to compliment their required colour theme. They only problem was the tile was a computerised image and not a real tile option, luckily for them Managing Director and Designer of this project Phil had a bright idea!

Design Elements

What appears to be a light blue geometric tile pattern is not all it seems. To create the geometric tiled look the client required, Designer Phil approached glass specialists Southern Counties Glass who were able to replicate the pattern in a colour to suit the project and lastly, install the glass behind the stand-alone bath space.

To create variance within the design a dimpled white rectangular tile has been utilised everywhere except the glass feature wall, while Calacatta Gold tiles have been chosen as the sparkling floor surface in this space.

Special Inclusions

A Sky Blue finish is the key to this subtle theme, and several components from Irish furniture maker Sonas have contributed to the final look. A floor standing cupboard unit has been chosen in Sky Blue to add necessary storage, and atop a marble work surface, podium sink, and basin mixer have been installed.

Manufacturer Sonas are also able to colour match furnishings like the bath, with the exterior of the freestanding Andrea model then colour matched to add another Sky Blue element to the design.

Brushed gold accents add another bold element to the theme. A floor standing bath filler, basin mixer, illuminating mirror, and furniture handles have all been chosen in the finish, which also combines well with the chosen floor tiling.

Project Highlight

The glass alternative to a tiled feature wall is the undoubtable highlight of this space.

The geometric pattern adds interest to the design and the inventive solution meant the clients were also able to choose this in a customised colour to suit this space.
