The Brief

This client from Billingshurst, West Sussex approached our Horsham design team seeking to transform their en-suite bathroom with a new style, leaning on Japandi influences and impactful design elements.

The en-suite required a full renovation, with our design team replacing everything in the room to entirely modernise this space. A walk-in shower was the key focal point of this design and as part of the project the client sought to add plenty of modern conveniences to this area of the property.

Design Elements

This design boasts instant impact thanks to the use of a rocky, stone effect tile option named Yogi, which has been used throughout the entire room. This tile contributes to the hard-hitting, Japandi style the client favoured, whilst subtle multicolour hues are highlighted by modern lighting choices opted for in the design.

The layout is relatively simple, placing the shower into the corner of the room and storage units in a tiled alcove. The design features two built-out sections to conceal sanitaryware, and or pipework – each of which is also equipped with a storage niche to store daily essentials.

The shower area itself is comprised of a low-lying shower tray from British manufacturer Kudos, and is installed in tandem with an 8mm shower screen. A digital shower system has been installed upon entry to the shower, helping the clients easily adjust flow rate and temperature – this handy dial even saves settings for each user of the shower.

Special Inclusions

Plenty of storage has been incorporated into to the project to keep the space clutter free. A 70cm wall hung unit from British furniture maker Saneux has been chosen in a Matt Anthracite finish. And installed above, it is accompanied by an illuminating mirrored cabinet from HiB – which possess useful demisting technology so it can be used at all times.

The theme uses brushed bronze brassware as an accent throughout and even matches a towel rail that has been installed at the entry to the shower space.

Project Highlight

The highlight of this en-suite space is the functional and user-friendly digital shower system.

This is an Aqualisa Optic Q model, which allows the clients to control temperature and flow rate from the compact dial. The clients will also have the option to save their personal preferences and simply select the user when entering the shower – a super indulgent addition to this space.

The End Result

This project was a relatively simple modernisation which encompasses a great high-impact theme, and present-day additions.

As part of the works at this property, we also renovated a family bathroom in a very similar style, placing a bath where the shower features in this room, and replicating the theme that was a key success of this en-suite project.
