Mackintosh Kitchens: Exploring the 22 Painted Finishes

In this company blog, we take a look at some of the twenty-two painted finishes available when you choose a Mackintosh kitchen for your project. Mackintosh are renowned for their array of painted finishes, which are available across nineteen door styles, providing more than four-hundred possibilities for a kitchen project.

In addition to their painted finishes, Mackintosh also offer a number of textured and slab door finishes, including their popular and 100% recycled kitchen option.

Arctic & Spitfire

This kitchen combines two of the Mackintosh painted finish options Arctic & Spitfire. With numerous neutral and coloured finishes, there is plenty of potential to create great two-tone kitchen combinations with a Mackintosh kitchen.

This kitchen utilises the crisp white Arctic finish for full-height and wall units with the bold Spitfire finish is used for the kitchen island and base units. Spitfire is a hugely popular blue / green finish that combines well with light finishes or can also look great as a stand-alone finish.

Spitfire is also a great choice for a shaker kitchen project.

Graphite & Light Grey

Greys are a very popular choice for many of our clients, and two of Mackintosh’s three Grey colour choices combine in this space.

Graphite is a hard-hitting finish that adds a modern element to any kitchen. When used in a shaker style kitchen as shown, it’s dark hues can be toned down by adding another finish, but if used singularly it can create a particularly modern aesthetic.

This light grey finish is another option suited to two-tone projects, or those where a light and airy feel is required.

Oxford Blue & Light Grey

Mackintosh’s light grey features again in this shaker kitchen, which showcases Mackintosh’s timber painted door option.

Here Mackintosh’s popular Oxford Blue finish is exhibited, which combines well with this light grey finish and a plenitude of neutral tones like Arctic, Ivory and Limestone. If you are seeking a bold colour in your kitchen similar to this Oxford Blue tone, colour choices like Cove Blue, Steel Blue, Sage Green, and Botanical Green may also be of interest.

Jet & Walnut

This kitchen exhibits one of Mackintosh’s one-hundred percent recycled finishes: Walnut, and for this design it has been paired with a finish only available in contemporary slab doors: Jet.

These two finishes are available in addition to the twenty-two painted finishes but are a great reminder of the non-painted finishes that can combine for a great look.
